Ever wondered how the Kaaba looked inside
From an email I received recently, I decided to lookup some more information:

This what we usually get to see when the King of Saudi Arabia visits the Kaaba in Makkah

A drawing of the layout of the Kaaba

Plan and Structure

Photo of Inside the Kaaba. Interior matches the first photo
Some details of the interior the Kaaba:
- There are three pillars inside
- There is a small table on the side to put items like perfume and incense burners.
- There are two lantern-type lamps hanging from a cross beam near the ceiling
- There are no electric lights inside
- The interior walls are clad with marble half-way to the roof.
- The entire floor is of marble except for a small portion which is called “Rukhamat Humra”.
- Tablets with Qur’anic inscriptions are inset in the marble.
- The top part of the walls is covered with a green cloth decorated with gold embroidered Qur’anic verses.
- There are no windows inside
- There is only one door
- The space can accommodate about 50 people
Apparently, there’s also a video now available on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAeR1U0z5io

Please PAUSE the movie at 0:26, and look sharp to the ornament on the table at the center. Is it a croos?

I know that there is a meteorite or some such thing embedded in the outside of one of the walls. Is that the location where there is a plaque on the interior wall where there is a man on his knees praying?
Mashaal
MashAllah it is the first time I have got to see the inside of the Ka’bah. I feel very blessed that I came upon this website and saw what my heart was been yearning to see. I hope all of my Muslim brothers and sisters have the opportunity to see the Ka’bah in person, InshahAllah. Wasalam.
