Dynamic Guides in Fireworks
I’ve always preferred Fireworks over other graphic software, because it suits me as a developer, design by guides, boxes, etc., not really the designer. Here is an extension thats an absolute time saver.
Imagine you have to place alot of guides on a page, each having an equal spacing in between. This extension does that for you. Simply tell it the horizontal and vertical offset.
It’s called the Iata Command set, and author’s website is: http://www.demontowers.com/content.aspx?page=Free-Fireworks-CS3-Extensions, but the download link is broken. Get it here instead: http://www.fwzone.net/go?3535 but you’ll have to register!
Creates guides within your document at a given vertical and horizontal spacing.
This is a really helpful tool that allows you to specify the distance that you want each slice to be from each other in X and Y values. No more dragging guides from the rulers and fiddling around to get them in just the right position. Dynamic Guides are available by selecting Commands > Phireworx > Dynamic Guides.
Dynamic Guides was created due to the fiddly nature of guides, and the difficulty of setting up maybe 50 horizontal or vertical guides at an exact pixel spacing.
